The roots of the style of barefoot massage we teach originate in the far East, borrowing mainly from China, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and India.

The Institute was founded by Nicole Ramien, RMT & RN in March 2015. Nicole became the first Certified Barefoot Massage Therapy Instructor in Canada and has been teaching RMTs in Canada since 2013. Ashiatsu was formally accepted by the CMTO to be within the scope of RMT practice as of March 2013. Courses are now offered in Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax.

The CIAMT prides itself on providing a high-quality, multi-dimensional learning and teaching approach. Our facilities are warm and comfortable. We believe in small class sizes of maximum 6-8 students, so that each students preferred learning style can be addressed. This also ensure that students get adequate supervision and guidance, which can be catered to their specific needs.
